Built in classic Spanish style, the hotel is presently developed as a low-density mix of cabanas, suites and standard rooms totalling 52 units on 12,087 m2 of prime terrain. The hotel's main building and restaurant boasts a breathtaking, peaceful panorama of Sosúa Bay, while a second restaurant is situated right next to the town's main tourist thoroughfare. The hotel has a swimming pool, banquet rooms, terraces and social areas, various auxiliary administrative areas and tree-lined garden pathways. It also possesses an extensive water storage and distribution system as well as a 150 KVA back-up electrical generation system.

Hotel Coralillo's unique unrivaled location - indisputably the most prized in Sosúa - is highly suitable for development of a modern five-star resort complex. The site is presently underutilized and under-constructed by modern hotel standards, so high development potential exists. (To meet top international standards, substantial renovation and refurbishing of rooms will be needed.)

Sosúa's kilometer-long white sand beach and its bay teaming with coral and aquatic life draws sunbathers, swimmers, divers, snorklers along with sailboats and watersports. The irregular topography of Coralillo's terrain, with its gentle slope to the sea (from 83 meters above sea level) has been landscaped to preserve its original vegetation and natural beauty.

 

About Sosúa

The area enjoys an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and an annual rainfall of 1,815.7 mm/m2.

The coastal zone of surrounding Puerto Plata Province has vast extensions of land with areas of white sand beaches which the Dominican government has declared exclusively for tourist development.

The neighborhood of Hotel Coralillo boasts shopping centers, restaurants, car rentals, gift shops, local tour operators, many owned and operated by Europeans, as well as Canadians.

Sosúa is one of the most developed tourist areas in the Dominican Republic, offering essential infrastructural services: potable water, electricity, telephone, asphalt streets, and inter-city public transportation. It is located 10 minutes from Puerto Plata International Airport.

The community, originally known as El Batey, was settled in the 1940s by German Jews fleeing Nazi persecution. Hotel Coralillo was opened in 1981 by Thomas Philipp who immigrated from Germany in 1939 to the Dominican Republic. While Sosúa has in recent years attracted others from all over Europe, North America and elsewhere, the town continues to boast a large and growing population of German-speaking residents, merchants, and hotel and tourist operators. Germans continue to make up the largest percentage of vacationers, although Sosúa attracts a wide cross-section of others from Europe and North America.

Main Building Complex

Spanish colonial design with cindercrete block construction and concrete grove roofs covered in Spanish style terra cotta tile.

Upper level (Games room): 9.3 m x 8 m ( 30' 6" x 26' 3") Full view of town and bay on all four sides. Terra cotta tile floor.

Main Level: 9.3 m x 8 m (30' 6"  x  26' 3") Includes hotel reception, bar, 2 washrooms, view of the bay. Could be utilized as cocktail lounge & additional restaurant. Direct access from kitchen.

Conference room: large, fully glassed area with view of the bay, one level down from main level.

Suites: 2 one-bedroom suites with bath, facing ocean.

 

Terraced Restaurant and Party Salon

Main Terrace: 12 m x 10 m (39' 5" x 32' 10") Shaded by 20m mahogany trees, with unobstructed panorama overlooking Sosúa Bay. Main access from kitchen and bar. Adjacent to main building with washrooms. Cement construction with terra cotta tile floor.

2nd Terrace: 9.5 m x 10 m (31' 2" x 32' 10") 1/2 level up from 1st terrace, wooden decking with adjacent outdoor grill/bar and 10 m2 elevated band stand. Overlooks on two sides Sosúa bay and Coralillo pool area. Direct access from main kitchen. Adjacent to main building with washrooms.

3rd Terrace: 9.2 m x 8.3 m (30' 2" x 27' 3") 1/2 level up from 2nd terrace, wooden decking, looks directly down on to pool area and hotel gardens. Direct access from main kitchen.

Party salon: 14 m x 8.7 m (46'  x 28' 6") Fully covered with sliding window panels, includes bar and separate washrooms. Can be separated from terrace restaurant and has direct access from main kitchen. Full window view of pool area with open balcony measuring 6.2 m x 3.7 m (20'4" x 12' 2")

Beach patio restaurant: 129.7 m2 with kitchen and outdoor grill, bathroom area and 64.48 m2 of outdoor seating area covered with sugar cane roof supported by pine wood structure with a floor of polished cement. Direct access to public beach and tourist thoroughfare.

Kitchen main area: 7.1 m x 6.85 m (23' 4" x 22' 6"), In addition there is a bakery area, pantry, chef's office, staff bathroom, cool room.

 

Pool Area

Comfortable, medium-sized pool with both shallow and deep ends. Enclosed within lush gardens and towering trees. Outdoor fresh water shower, interlocking paving stone pool side deck. Change rooms and washrooms are steps away.

 

Rooms / Cabanas

Surrounded by lush, fragrant foliage and shaded by palms and fruit trees, along pathways lined with small border fences made of coral rock. Spanish colonial design. Cindercrete block construction, concrete grove roofs covered in terra cotta tile with mahogany doors and shutters. Of 52 rooms, 5 have full kitchens, 2 bedrooms, living areas with full veranda. The rest have one bedroom, full bath and veranda.

Laundry facilities: 241.8 m2 Two of the 52 suites are above the laundry facilities, and are used for staff residence

A. Block of 4 buildings, 518.84 m2 in total -129.7 m2 each, with a distribution of three separate bedrooms, each with bathroom.

B. One two-story building, 185.6 m2 in total, with 4 bedrooms and bathrooms.

C. Block of 5 individual buildings (cabanas), 720.2 m2 in total, 4 of two stories and 1 of one story, each with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, porch, living room, dining room, kitchen and terrace.

D. One three-story building, 534.63 m2 in total, with 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms per story.

E. Block of 2 buildings, 489.62 m2 in total, with 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms in each building.
